About Louise

Louise Barson was born in the South Manchester suburb of Timperley, living and working around the UK before moving to Haughton in beautiful rolling countryside near Chester, Cheshire in 2021.

With a childhood spent either exploring the natural world in the fields, woods and streams near her home with her dog; or her nose in a book imagining different lives and stories; Louise has always had a keen eye for details and colour.

Louise began painting in 2017 after recovering from her cancer and after the deaths over a 5-month period of her parents and shortly after, her younger brother. These life-changing events led her to take stock and re-evaluate her life and career and give up employment. Louise decided it was time to become the artist she always was inside.

Louise's art invites viewers into a visionary realm where the subjects that she portrays serve as potent metaphors for profound human desires. Through a vivid interplay of forms and colours, Louise's paintings resonate with the universal yearning to be seen and acknowledged, and to forge meaningful connections. Her creations mirror the intricate tapestry of human existence.

Each painting is accompanied by its own short story for the viewer to take in or for them to use as a base to create their own version of what they see in each artwork and how it makes them feel. Here is one example.

Through her art, Louise celebrates the inherent uniqueness of every soul, while championing the discovery of common ground. Her paintings are not only reflections of personal journeys but also invitations for viewers to find solace and empowerment in the convergence of their own paths with those of others or their decision to march to the beat of their own drum.

Louise has quickly established an excellent reputation as a local Cheshire artist and a UK artist and now she is beginning to spread her reach as an international artist as some of her paintings are owned by art lovers in Europe and the USA, Canada and Australia.
